The Schnauzer Club of Victoria, which was founded in 1963, was created to foster good will among owners of the 3 sizes of our breed, Standard, Giant & Miniature.
The Club caters for owners of Show & Pet Schnauzers of all varieties and rescues/re-homes Schnauzers.
Two Championship dog Shows and one Open Show are held each year enabling the owners of our breeds to parade their dogs before Internationally Renowned as well as Local Judges.
Additionally the Club holds 2 to 3 fun days a year for all owners of Schnauzers to get together in a relaxed atmosphere and have some fun with their dogs.
THE 'SCHNAUZER CLUB OF VICTORIA' HISTORY.
On the 24th.February, 1962, the first SCHNAUZER RALLY was held in the grounds of the property owned by Miss ANTHEA CUNNINGHAM (URANGELINE SCHNAUZERS and ZAN HAARIG DACHSHUNDS) at MT. ELIZA, VICTORIA.
SCHNAUZER owners and friends attended, bringing with them 31 SCHNAUZERS. There were no MINIATURES or GIANTS present because, only SCHNAUZERS existed in VICTORIA, back then.
After welcoming all present, Miss CUNNINGHAM gave an informative talk and demonstration on stripping and trimming the SCHNAUZER for the show ring.
This was followed by an obedience demonstration by Mrs R LEGGE (REGOS) with URANGELINE HONEY BUN and Mr CLEM CERINI (KONIGLICH)with REGOS TANNHAUSER.
A Breed Competition, judged by Mrs BERTHA RYAN, noted Obedience Judge, All Breeds Judge and breeder of German Shepherd Dogs, then became the focal point of the day.
Prizes were hand painted tiles, depicting Schnauzer heads, sketched on, then oven fired. These were done by ‘ ISOBEL POTTERIES’ of North Croydon, Victoria.
At the conclusion of the Competition a discussion took place about the forming of a Breed Specific Club.
Mr. BERNIE SULLIVAN (MISSENDEN, ( SCHNAUZERS and BEAGLES) moved that THE SCHNAUZER CLUB be formed.
Miss VIVIAN VOYSEY (URANGELINE and ZAN HAARIG) seconded this motion. All present agreed.
Mr. BERNIE SULLIVAN became the inaugural PRESIDENT, in 1962.
Miss ANTHEA CUNNINGHAM and Mr. CLEM CERINI, VICE PRESIDENTS.
THE SCHNAUZER CLUB held its inaugural Championship Show in 1966 with Mr. Graeme Missen adjudicating.
Mr. CERINI’s exhibit, CH. DELTONE DELDARIO was awarded BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW.

SCHNAUZERS.
The first SCHNAUZERS were imported to Victoria from U.K., by Miss ANTHEA CUNNINGHAM, in the early 1950’s.
Her imports included DELABORDE MAMPE, RHODELIA OF BISHOPSTON and DELABORDE ECSTACY, all of which went on to become K.C.C.Champions.
Later, Ms. ANTHEA CUNNINGHAM imported DONDEAU WONDEROUS (U.K), STREIGEL VON MIRAKO (SWITZ) and, in partnership with Miss JACKIE DIXON, (INKATAAS) FORGEES SILVER TASSIE (U.K) and IKKIVS NORWEGIAN CONQUEST ( U.K)
Mr.BARRY/Mrs. ROBYN YOUL (VUILLBARD) imported SCHNOODLES MOONSHINE OF SIDDLEY (U.K) and PENBARI PENNYWISE (U.K.)
Mr. RON/Mrs LESLEY MANNION (ALBRECHT) imported ARGENTA’S RIDDAR RIMFROST (SWEDEN) and ARGENTA’S DINA DORINDA.(SWEDEN).
Mr PHILIP/ Mrs BERYL. HODGSON (PORTORA) imported DIXIE’S GABRIEL VON HOLZ, IRLANDER’S HARMONY VON HOLZ and ASGARD OLIVIA all from U.S.A.
Ms SHELLEY HANCOX ( DOENITZ) imported UDO VON HAHLWEG (SWITZ) 1983, UKKIUS TROUPER (U.K.) 1983.
Later Ms. HANCOX imported to her DOENITZ kennel, VORTAC STAR TRIP VON SCHADEN (U.S.A.) 1989, KHINJAN PHOTO FINISH OF COTERNE (U.K.)1994, KHINJAN RUM TUM TUGGER(U.K.)1994, KHINJAN TOPAZ (U.K.) 1994, SCHABAAL JUST A STAR.(U.K.)1993, BENNINGHOFF MISSISSIPPI.( U.K.) 1994, MICCOSUKEES WHY ME (U.K) 2000, MICCOSUKEES BETTER SHOW EM.(U.K.)2005, MICCOSUKEES BETTER BEGIN (U.K.)2005, MICCOSUKEES DR. ZHIVAGO.(U.K.)2006, KHINJAN WINNER TAKE ALL (U.K.)2007, KHINJAN PAQUITA (U.K.)2007, TOP TARGET NADYA.(RU) 2008, KHINJAN KHAMSIN.(U.K) 2009, KHINJAN KLARA (U.K), AVE CONCORDE PATRICIA AT KHINJAN (RU) 2011 and CARRIBEAN STAR AT KHINJAN (U.K.) 2013, clearly adding so much to the gene pool of Schnauzers in Victoria.
Ms. MILLIE WEINFELD (SONGUST) imported A ARNOLD SCHWARTZENEGGER (U.S.A.) NORA VON MASATINA (BEL), MASCARS MAYAYA and MASCARS MYOMYO in the 1980’s as well as ARGENTAS JUNKER JARL(SWED) and VON STOCKERS JEN NI GLORY (USA).
JOHN/RAYMA RITZAU (AWUN) imported LINDAL VON WEISBADEN (USA)and LINDAL VON TATRA (USA).
SCHNAUZER MINIATURE.
The first MINIATURE SCHNAUZER, DELTONE DELDARIO (U.K.) was imported to Victoria from the U.K. by Mrs SILVIA CERINI (KONIGLICH) as a birthday present for husband, CLEM, in 1962.
Mrs. ELIZABETH TEMPLEMAN (TEMPO) imported SHEENHART HONEYSUCKLE (U.K) in 1963. Both of these became K.C.C.Champions and together produced the first homebred litter in April 1964.
1964. Mr JACK NARONE(RATHMINES) imported DELTONE DELDARYL (U.K) and DELTONE DELSANTA DORIC (U.K.) who, having been mated to well known English sire ENG.CH. DELTONE DELDISPLAY prior to exportation from England, subsequently produced 11 puppies in quarantine.
Ms ANTHEA CUNNINGHAM imported DONDEAU HUNT CUP.(U.K.)
Many SCHNAUZER MINIATURES were imported from U.K. in the years that followed.
Mr/Mrs CERINI (KONIGLICH) imported DELTONE DELSANTA DELIA (U.K.) and the first black, JOVINUS RIGOLETTO.(U.K.)
ENG.CH. DELTONE DELDUQUE (U.K) was imported early 1970 to the KONIGLICH kennel.
Mr ROBERTS imported DELTONE DELDANE (U.K) in 1965.
Lady ELIZABETH FROGGATT (SANDYBAY) imported SWEET MAID FROM RISEPARK (U.K.) in 1973 and later
DEANSGATE BOLD SUE (U.K.) and WRENDRAS DREAM KNIGHT (U.K.)
Ms. AUDREY RALPH (FERNLANDS) imported ENG CH. EASTWIGHT SEA LORD. (U.K) in 1974 and later COURTAUD CONQUERER.(U.K) and in pnship with Lady Frroggatt DENGARSE TAKE BY STORM (U.K).
Mrs. ELIZABETH TEMPLEMAN (TEMPO) imported. COURTAUD PANNYANN PAMPASS PETE (U.K.), EASTWIGHT SEA COOKIE.(U.K) and DENGARSE PIRATES JUBILEE (U.K.)

Ms. EMMA GREENWAY (HUSSBROT) imported CYPSELLA GOES DOWN UNDER.(U.K.)
Mrs. DIANE LILEY ( DYRIC) imported CASTILLA ILLUSTRADO (U.K.) ICCABOD ENGLISH PROSPECT(U.K) and CASTILLA ABAGADO.(U.K.). Later came PENLAN PORTMASTER (U.S.A.)
SCHNAUZER GIANT.
The first SCHNAUZER GIANTS were imported into Victoria by Ms. AUDREY RALPH.
These were NENEVALE ECLIPSE (U.K) in whelp to Ambassador at Catalanta and NENEVALE NOVALIS(U.K) in the early 1980’s.
Mr.JOHN/ Mrs.RAYMA RITZAU (AWUN) imported NENEVALE QUADRILLE ( U.K.) AM.CH. SKANSEN’S FEBELWESEN V FIGARO (U.S.A), SKANSEN’S MAGNUS OPUS (U.S.A.) and SKANSEN’S MIDSUMMOR (U.S.A.)
